How can I change the <title> of any given article, without affecting the actual title that human eyes sees on the site on JA WALL?

Are you referring to the meta title? Or the url alias? article h2 tag?

Sorry, what I mean is the Meta Title – what appears in the TITLE BAR of the browser at the very very top.
That is what I need to adjust the text, but not affect the actual title of the article.

Maybe I’m being a bit stupid about what you want. To change the title bar, go into the menü item (from the side bar menü) and on the right click on ‘Page Display Options’ and there is an input field for ‘Browser Page Title’. Is that what you were looking for?

Hi Swissa,

That works great for the home page, but what I refer to is when you are inside an actual article.
Right now the title of the article appears verbatim in the meta title bar at the top of the browser, and I need be able to slightly modify the way it appears in the meta title bar at the top of the browser, while not affecting the actual title of the article it self.

I’m also interested to enhance the meta title for seo purposes without affecting the article title that shows within blog categories.

@ometaxas: For your requirement you would need to hack JOOMLA CORE files (which is not recommended) you can customize it here

Open components/com_content/views/article/view.html.php file

Find protected function _prepareDocument() and you can change include: page_title, menu-meta_description, menu-meta_keywords… if you like
