Whenever I do a search it just shows the home page. How do I fix this?

On the quickstart it seems to be linked somehow to a menu item, under the menu about joomla!->using joomla-> extensions->components->search-components->search

index.php/using-joomla/extensions/components/search-component/search?searchword

however on a fresh install (no quickstart) I have no idea how to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Itrejo,

In order to make search result appear on other page, go to backend >> Menu Manager >> Create new menu >> Create new Menu Item >> Choose menu type is Search Form or Search Results as this capture

I had already done that, its called “Busqueda” on a menu called “Otros”, it is published and here is the screenshot:

however if you search for anything nothing happens.

Does the Search Form Menu have to be on Main Menu? or what am I doing wrong?

I tried publishing it under the Main Menu, but that did not work either
