October 15, 2011 at 1:40 pm #169696How do I get to positions, content-mass top and content, to add my own content?
How do I put positions right and left on every page of my site?
I think I am running on joomla 1.6 and using template ja_portfolio. I am very new to this app and only know html & css.
Thank you very much for your help!

October 15, 2011 at 1:45 pm #419501Hi legalgrind
You must publish your modules in that positions and assign to a specific page

October 15, 2011 at 2:15 pm #419511I am assuming you are answering question 2: How do I keep modules right and left on every page.
Could you be more specific, please? When I go to the right and left modules, the status is marked published. How do I assign these modules to a specific page?

In the Module manager at the bottom of the page you have Menu assignment Module Assignment here you can choose on wich page you want that module must be published.

October 15, 2011 at 2:45 pm #419514Thank you SO much? It worked!
Now for Question 1: How do I add my content to content-mass-top and content? Where do I locate those modules? When I go to the
Module Manager, it is not in the popup, to select.pavit Moderatorpavit

October 15, 2011 at 3:40 pm #419520Hi legalgrind
Thanks for your PM
Actually in your content-mass-top position you have published a Custom HTML Module named home page tabs
so the content-mass-top position is available to publish any other module.
For the content position it is called main content and actually you have published all articles marked as featured.
If you want change go to Menus–>Main menu –>Home –> on the details you will see Featured articles, click on select (
on the right ) and you can change the content type in any other available
If you want see all your positions active on your page add this suffix to your url /?tp=1
Example http://www.yoursite.com/?tp=1

October 15, 2011 at 4:41 pm #419529I am sorry but I still do not understand.
When I choose content-mass-top from the position selection from Module Manager: Modules, I do get a Custom HTML Module named home page tabs. When clicked this displays a line of code in the editor. What am I supposed to do with that? How do I get my own content into it?
For the second part, I do not see anything called content or main content in the position popup from Module Manager: Modules?
I have used the suffix to my site and I do see the names of all of the positions. I see blocks called content (main content) – but I don’t know how to get there.
Is it possible to walk me through it? I am so sorry and appreciate your patience.

October 15, 2011 at 4:57 pm #419530Hi
<blockquote>When clicked this displays a line of code in the editor.</blockquote>
That is the code that shows your actual module in the content-mass-top you don’t need to edit it if you don’t want it
anymore you can disable it and choose another module to publish in that position
The content main is not visible in the module selection, it is assigned by default and you can choose what you want to
publish in that position using the home menu item ( Change Type remember ? select )

October 15, 2011 at 5:45 pm #419534I am sorry but it is just not registering with me. I think I will create some more pages under Featured Articles and see if that helps me understand. Also I will take a break from it. Maybe then it will be clearer to me.
I want to thank you for all your help so far and hope you will not give up on me once I do above. Again, thank you!
