I’ve read through the documentation on developing new pages and I still fail to understand them completely.

I want to build a page that will allow me to leave the content section open for articles and modules, as shown in the attached image. However, I see no way to do this. Also, if I could create this, how do I know what the module positions are for these blocks?

Similar question to a previous one. The answer then was "You can’t" although you can put a module in a builder element that shows articles.
I hope they fix this soon; many Joomla sites are composed of articles, especially most news sites and blogs. That’s what Joomla was built for

Hi
if you want to use JA Builder on the blog page, you can create a menu with type blog, assign JA Builder template to it.Space is for the Menu output.
You can add a new block on this page using JA Builder.
