September 4, 2016 at 2:49 pm #965472I have installed K2 and can create additional fields. I have created a K2 Category of Events and added 3 K2 Items with an extra field event date (as a date field). I want to display a list of Events ordered by the extra date field but I don’t understand how to do it. My demo site has been created just to understand this issue so I don’t care where the results are displayed or what other changes are needed.

September 5, 2016 at 1:52 pm #965752Does fieldsattach component support to sort articles in a list by ‘Event Date’ extra field in default Joomla article type?

September 5, 2016 at 2:04 pm #965756If you ignore the fact that I created the extra fields using Fieldsattach rather than creating them manually, I still have the same question, how to display custom fields and how to sort by them.

September 6, 2016 at 10:18 am #966032Then you will need to custom the layout view of that list page as by default, Joomla only supports to order / sort by date created / published, not by extra field.

September 9, 2016 at 3:57 pm #967054Using Joomlart K2 appears to be the solution, however I am not quite there yet.
I have created a new testing site and I have installed K2. I have created and Extra Fields Group, and I have created three K2 items (articles) that include the extra field. I still can’t seem to display the Extra field nor order the item list by the extra date field. Any assistance would be appreciated.

September 12, 2016 at 7:07 am #967534I’m afraid that you will have to customise the core code of module or K2 view to have order by date in extra field.

October 4, 2016 at 7:17 am #973285I am now using JEVENTS Calendar which provides all the functionality and more that I require. Another way to achieve this would probably be to display a Google calendar within a page.
