it defaults to the smaller resolution which causes the newsflash module to get pushed down and out of line in firefox, and causes the top toolbar to double over itself if there are too many menu items… is there a way to make it default to the <–> or, expanded view?

You mean the screen resolution?
If that you can change that in the index.php file at set it to wide or auto(if the template have auto)

im talking about in the regulus ex template there are ‘user tools’ to make it 1024 X 768 or 800X600, the little double arrow icon, or the sideways equal sign… i want to default to 1024X768

Set it in the index.php, there you can set the default width of the template

If you select from the usertool on the webpage, then I believe a cookie should remember the setting for next time. Are cookies enabled?
