    I read a discussion, posted earlier, that offered a solution which left the hpanel visible all the time. I want it hidden – (gone), I don’t need it. I don’t need the java script running in the background and slowing down my website, if I am never going to use it anyway.

    Also, I would like to get rid of the “Member Area’ button permanently.

    Please help.

    Hi CW,

    Next time search the forums before asking a question please. The answer to your question is in this thread: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/changing-the-name-of-member-area/

    Kind Regards,

    To Swemmel: — I appreciate your comment. However, I have checked this post earlier and found that at least one of the recommended solutions was wrong. Removing the following lines from the index.php file ruins the header: – the search box moves under the top menu and is left aligned, the left and right margins of the page are eliminated, it looks awful.

    </div>

    <span id="ja-hp-switch">Member Area</span>

    </div>

    </div>

    Your solution that follows in the indicated post works. My question is: Leaving the above code for the Member Area text in place – does it have an impact on the way the script runs? Maybe it would be good to get rid of it, too? But I don’t know how to do it without destroying the header.

    Respectfully,

    CW
