Please excuse my ignorance as I am new to Joomla:-

I have installed a local version of J16 using Xampp, I want to create my own custom template and am trying to install JAT3 2.0 for Joomla 1.6. I have downloaded the zip file and extracted it to find that it has nested Folders and zip files. I have searched the Wiki and cant find any installation instructions???

Do I need to install all the folders:-
component
plugin
quickstart
template

When I tried to upload all of them via the Extension Manager: Install feature it corrupted the Joomla administrator forcing me to reinstall? Is there any documentation on installing JAT3 2.0 for Joomla 1.6?
Are you only meant to install some of the folders?
When setting up Joomla 16 I chose to install sample data it has some templates that I see are duplicated in JAT3 would this be a problem?

Any help will be much appreciated

Perhaps I am in over my head but could not make sense of it?
Surely there should be simple documentation on how to install JAT3 2.0 for Joomla 1.6 does it not exist? :-[

Hi Tusk,

I too am having the same problem. I first installed JA3 using the EXTENSION MANAGER upload&install button, but the hostmonster has a upload file size cap of 10M files located in the ini.php file. Since the JA3 was 10.8M this file got corrupted. Figured this out when I got errors saying JA3 plugin not installed. –ok. Now I am trying to use EXTENSION MGR install directory path or URL. I am unable to get either of them to work. I uploaded file to hostmonster server and extracted 7 .gz files.to a /tmp directory. when I provide this directory path to the install directory field. I get error — setup.xml not found. path does not contain a valid package.
The URL method, I get the URL from right click on download button and choose ‘copy link info’ and paste that into URL — this gives error — unkown archive type. Please provide a detail step by step approach of how you are trying it and what errors you are getting. I could not find any documentaion on this either.

1. why is so hard to create a php.ini file and add
upload_max_filesize = 20M
2. if php.ini don’t work there is the ftp install option
3. t3 framework plugins+component have only 1.4M. Don’t work with the quickstart version, because is outdated.
