Hi there
I am new to Joomlart and its templates. I downlaoded Kalunite and made it default and when i look at the page, the content is gone. I did the quick install on my local pc and it was fine with the default joomla sample data and stuff
i guess im missing the point of how to install or why i need to install the quickstart
i looked at the index.php to figure out some of the code and what its doing. is there a place where i can start from scratch about how to install a joomlart template??
i will leave the site as is (with the problem) for now if you want to take a look at it.
thanks
Bharat

August 25, 2008 at 10:12 pm #267216quickstart is a full joomla installation with the template and all of the needed modules already installed , and demo content created and set as default
this is the best way to use joomlart
when you install from a quickstart package, you must click on install sample data during the database process to get all the site to look like the demo
August 26, 2008 at 1:07 pm #267382I already have a joomla site and I dont want to build something from scratch
can i just install the template as change my module positions so that it will fit?? liek i do with all the other templates?

yes, you can install a template into an existing joomla site (making sure it’s the correct template for the joomla version i.e. j1.5 has a j1.5 template).
However, if you want to keep your existing content, you will have to install the modules seperately. If you install a quickstart then it will setup the site to be just like the joomlart demo site nad if you use an existing database and also install the sample data, you’re going to run into trouble.
like you say – you already have a site, just install the template only and then install the modules seperately and then confirgure your modules into the correct positions using the user guides provided for the template in question.

August 26, 2008 at 2:11 pm #267394you can install the template just like you would any other template, and then install the modules separately.
