July 30, 2008 at 9:32 am #131521I was wondering if Joomlart Staff would share a company secret. I am not sure when the Joomla 1.5.5-Teline II would be prepared, or for that matter how fast a new one would be prepated everytime, Joomla upgrades.
I am sure it is more involved, but assuming there is not scripting incompatibility, if I have a Joomla 1.5.3-Teline II v1.4 QuickStart Kit, can I just do this?
Start with Joomla 1.5.x (latest), and meticulously look for the JA tagged files and directories (there are more than 5 thousand files in Joomla 1.5.5 alone), and upload these JA files and directories to the latest Joomla 1.5.x???
I am not sure if it is that easy, I wish. But, my experience with Gavick Pro, where they do not have an QuickStart kit, their installation is very elaborate:
- Upload and install Joomla 1.5.x
- Use install/uninstall in the administrator to install the template, and whatever unique components, modules and plugins
- Upload Demo materials
- Import the db-content.sql into the database
Remove installation directory
Well, of course, it is given in the above that the modules, plug ins are activated (published) and the components configured properly.
How are the last two steps achieved to create the Joomlart QuickStart Kit?
In a related matter, in the non-QuickStart installation of the Joomla-Teline II. what is the equivalent of the last two steps when the Joomlart template, and extensions are installed via the “install/uninstall” option?
I did not see any equivalent of the materials for the last two steps (re: Gavick Pro procedure) in the
JA Teline II v1a 1.5.x Folder
Does this mean that when the various extensions are installed, the Demo materials are also installed in the database to create the Demo page of a Joomlart template?
Thanks.

July 30, 2008 at 2:59 pm #263079I don’t know what they do, but wouldn’t using something like joomlapack work and then just rename the zip file. its all there and installs the same way as a quickstart package. i’m sure its that easy.

July 30, 2008 at 3:24 pm #263080I agree.
I think they initially setup a demo site and then just pack it up for other people to use.
It’s just like backing it up and then uploading all the files again to another server.

July 30, 2008 at 3:51 pm #263089Not really, if it were that easy, it would not take Hung’s able staff a month or so to update the existing templates.
Also, every template company would be doing that.
And, if you two think it is that easy, why don’t you provide a working Joomla 1.5.5-Teline II with all the fixes? 🙂
