December 27, 2012 at 4:04 pm #183456Hello,
Right now when you are looking at the home page of http://173.254.15.37 , and when you hover your cursor anywhere over an article preview, whether it’s the photo or the title or intro text, the photo caption appears.
How can I make it so that the picture caption appears only when the cursor hovers over the photo, and that the caption goes away the second that the hovering cursor leaves the area of the photo?
thanks

Actually, this is exactly what is occurring when I hover over any given image on your site. The overlay caption appears when I hover, then immediately disappears when I move the cursor away from the image.
Might this be a particular browser issue? What browser do you primarily view your site in?

December 27, 2012 at 6:39 pm #477667Hi Tom,
I checked all four primary browsers (Chrome, FF, IE, Safari) and the the caption does not go away when you lower the cursor below the photo, in fact the caption remains until you move your cursor away from any of the title or intro text on the article preview.
You are right that the caption goes away if you move the cursor to the left, right, or above the photo.
I need for the caption to dissapear the very instant the cursor moves below the photo and into the article preview area where the title and intro text is.
Any ideas? thanks

I ran this buy a “Joomla Guru” friend of mine, and he was stumped as well. :((
I am thinking that the photo+content box/block is one element – and, as such, this is why the caption remains until the cursor leaves the element all together … be it right, left, above or below. I am not certain how (or if) it can be coded otherwise …. but I am going to create a Help Desk Ticket for you and escalate this to the JA Development Team to see if they might be able to advise and/or assist you further.
😎
