November 20, 2008 at 1:35 am #135530Honestly, how much time do you need to understand that 1.5.7 is not the latest version?
And I mean it. EHO, Vietnam, USSR Colonies or whatever you are, 10 DAYS passed since 1.5.8 was announced and you are still displaying that 1.5.7 is the current version. BE MORE PROFESSIONAL ON THE DETAILS.scotty Friendscotty

November 20, 2008 at 10:33 am #27975810 DAYS!!!! WOW!!!!
1.5.7 was a critical update.
1.5.8 is a moderate security update. There are still 114 outstanding bugs in 1.5.8 so another update will be out very soon.
I’m in no hurry to update and I’d imagine JA are in no hurry to point people away from 1.5.7 to 1.5.8 as it is a minor update. 1.5.7 was a ‘highly recommended‘ update.

(you didnt mention this). Yes they will have to change this but i dont see it as JA’s responibility took keep the users up to date wich version of joomla is most recent. A good webmaster keeps this in check themselfs.
I think JA is doing a quite good job in updating to new joomla versions if you keep in mind how frequent the updates are recently. Check the quickstarts aswell they are all updated to 1.5.8.

There aren’t any. Joomla don’t even recommend you ‘update immediately‘, as they usually do in release notes. It is a just a minor update.

However, it is not the question, you can’t be a company and to don’t have time to change one picture and to confuse the users that are not that checking it regularly.

Actually it is only the users who DO check regularly that will be aware that there is an update. Users who do not check will know no better.
I think you are making a very big deal out of a very very small issue.

November 20, 2008 at 12:34 pm #279769It would be small issue, if it was in my personal blog, it is not professional when it is on a site of a company offering joomla services.

We have been busy upgrading the download version of JA templates to Joomla 1.5.8. This is something more important than just a image button that you mention. If we are late in updating the template, it may affect the benefit of members, while that small button will not cause any lost.I do think it is professional to focus on important things first. 🙂
