Without a live site it is difficult to know where the exact CSS location is, but it looks like on the demo there are three sections: The header (which is this image: header.gif) the body (which looks like is just the color gray ?) and the bottom section (which is this image botsl-bg.gif)

I fear one of the difficulties you will have with this template is coordinating all the modules to go with the background. It looks like the all the modules have gray around each image. See attachment.
