Hi
I can’t work out how to add a module above the main content area in JA Purity II
I’d like to put an image slider on the homepage about the main content.
I was going to use the Banner module, that is defined in templateDetails.xml, but is not called out in any of the other files in the JA Purity II template.
I’ve been all over Google and the forum and I can’t work this out.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or offer me some advice I’d much appreciate it.
I think it’s the JA T3 templating system that is confusing me.
I’ve tried mucking around with the blocks and just am going around in circles pulling my hair out.

February 22, 2013 at 9:42 am #484248Hello Aaron,
You should go to “Layout” setting of JA Purity II in Template Manager. Then add 1 more block in “middle blocks”. After that, you should style for that new block.
Regards.
February 26, 2013 at 4:36 am #484540Hey, thanks for replying so quickly. I didn’t get a notification otherwise would have responded sooner.
I’ve tried what you mentioned but I still can’t add a module.
I edited the default layout to this
<blocks name="middle">
<block name="left1">left</block>
<block name="banner" type="modules" style="raw">banner</block>
<block name="right1" style="jarounded">right</block>
</blocks>and I edited the Main Only layout to this
<blocks name="middle">
<block name="banner" type="modules" style="raw">banner</block>
</blocks>I then set my module manager position on the slider to be ‘banner’ but it just won’t show.
I can set the module manage position on the image slider to ‘user1’ and it shows, but I need it under that above the main content.
Any ideas
Many thanks

February 27, 2013 at 10:04 am #484736Please try to remove type=”modules” style=”raw”. JA T3 doesn’t use it.
February 28, 2013 at 11:16 pm #484950Thanks for the feedback. Still doesn’t work. I’m now paying a freelancer on fiverr to fix this for me. I can’t wait to find out what is wrong and how to do it.

March 6, 2013 at 9:08 am #485548I had a freelancer add the banner above the main content, but they edited a file deep in the JAT3 file structure.
This does not seem right, and I don’t see any other way of simply adding blocks and assigning modules to those blocks.
See attached image,Would someone confirm that this is not the way to do this?
Thanks
Aaron
March 14, 2013 at 3:40 am #486414To get closure on this issue, editing the JAT3 files is not a good idea.
So I took my freelancers idea of finding where to put the joomla code to add a new module, and introduced a content.php file into the /block subdirectory of JA Purity II
<div class="banner"><jdoc:include type="modules" name="banner" style="xhtml"/></div>
<jdoc:include type="component" />What do you know the override for the content.php now works great.
