    Hi
I have not found out a fast way to add a document for download in an article. Is there anyone out there who can explain the best way to insert a link to a document, i.e. pdf or similar to be downloadable from the site. Please advise, thanks in advance

Other than uploading the document to a folder and linking to it with a valid URL?
    Perhaps I’m misunderstanding the question.

There are a couple of components than can help. JCE Editor does that as part of its WYSIWYG…and a lot of people like DocMan. Both are available for free in http://extensions.joomla.org

    Hope this helps.

As John said upload your PDF to a samples folder and simply link to it….see here on my samples page

Thank you both! I have done it like mfcphil suggest but I find it very time consuming to do it like that. I will go for some extension and try that. I like to add a file/link to an article like I do for an image, thats my goal. Sorry if I was unclear about that

Then JCE Editor is what you need.
