I would like to have user position 1 set to the same width as the main content and user position2 as the width of the right column.
Currently, they both show as 50% each. Is there a way to control this?

Try add this at end of template.css file and adjust value accordingly::

#ja-topsl .ja-box-left{width:30% !Important;}
#ja-topsl .ja-box-right{width:70% !Important;}
