In order to best assist you, please provide the url of the site you’re working on, as well as set “Optimize CSS” to “No” within your Template Manager–General Settings.

thanks for your reply
but my problem is general, I mean that I wish to know how to change the style of the main menu (the one displayed a the top near the site logo) with a fresh installation done with quick start of Joomlart, for example:
JA Kranos for j17 (15.87 MB) quickstart
or
JA Tiris for j17 (21.66 MB) quickstartis my problem clear or not?

December 16, 2011 at 5:12 pm #429995You’re asking how to work with the style of the main navigation menus in general?
– as in modifying background colors, fonts, height/width, etc?December 16, 2011 at 5:20 pm #429998I’m using the ja-kranos template and I want to have the menu appearance of the ja-blaze for example.
Is there a simple way to do that (like for example for a ja-slideshow module where in the back-end I choose a “profile” and “skin”) or the only way is to work with css files?
thanks

December 16, 2011 at 5:28 pm #430000Well, the only way(s) to try to duplicate the styling/display/function of an element of a particular template into another is to review/study the relative elements that make up the styling/function of the item you want to duplicate (i.e. css, php – depending on which particular elements you want to duplicate) and then employ a trial-and-error+patience process to try to duplicate such into your chosen template.
If all you are wanting to duplicate is styling, then your focus would be on the CSS for the menu/navigation of (in your case) JA-BLAZE compared to that of JA-KRANOS – including the relationship of the menu layout to the logo (in the case of JA-Kranos) – and then begin the logic/trial-and-error process of how you can integrate/duplicate the relative CSS elements from JA-Blaze into your JA-Kranos css.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MAKING A COMPLETE BACK-UP OF YOUR SITE BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES
(better safe than sorry)make sense?

December 16, 2011 at 5:32 pm #430002yes, it makes sense surely,
I only hoped that there could be an easy way to do this like that for ja-slideshow: choose a “profile” and “skin”thanks anyway

December 16, 2011 at 5:52 pm #430007I understand completely . . . SOME things like this are relatively easier to effectuate than others, I agree.
I’ve often thought about writing a tutorial (in general terms) for transposing the styling for a given element from one template to another – kind of like I’ve done with a few tutorials I’ve written within the [URL=http://www.joomlart.com/forums/forum/joomlart-tutorials/”To Do” list for “near future” tutorials and articles I want to write for the JoomlArt Community.
As for your particular modification . . . . as I mentioned, if you can employ a “patience + trial-and-error” method to this goal, I am ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENT you can achieve your desired result. I actually employed this kind of method when I successfully (for the most part) duplicated the bottom “site-map/footer” area of Teline IV to a “JA-Methys” project I was fiddling around with . . . . and I’m thinking I might just do the same with the site-map/footer elements within JA -Tiris (into another template, that is) – as I really like the way the JA Devs put that together.
GOOD LUCK !!! – and if you find yourself getting stuck along the way, do not hesitate to post your issues within this thread, and we’ll see if we can’t resolve the roadblock together.

July 18, 2013 at 8:27 pm #499501Hello, I want to change in Kranos only the color of the mainmenu nav, cause when in turn the template profile to white, all turns to light colors except the mainmenu, and dont look armonic. And I want too change the size of the fonts to a smaller size because I need to put more links in the same space.

July 19, 2013 at 7:38 am #499568Hi nsca,
You need to open /templates/ja_kranos/css/menu/mega.css, then find lines:
.ja-megamenu ul.level0 li.mega a.mega {
color: #888;
font-size: 100%;
font-weight: normal;
padding: 0;
text-transform: uppercase;
background: blue;
}Then you can change with your desired menu item font-size and background color of main nav. Remember to clear JAT3 cache after saving changes.
