August 17, 2009 at 12:07 pm #143519Hi, I’ve got multiple locations to upload and don’t want to spend days typing them all in, is it possible to upload these to the corresponding joomla file or a batch update?

August 18, 2009 at 4:20 pm #314640You would have to do an import into the table in the mysql database…unless JA intergrades this option.

August 18, 2009 at 4:37 pm #314641Thanks, you wouldn’t know which table it is do you? I’ve not actually done any inserts that way before but it makes sense to do it that way. My SQL is entry level to say the least though.

August 19, 2009 at 5:41 am #314698If you are using phpmyadmin, try to first make a backup, then go to the locations table, select it and say export and save it.
Edit the saved file with an editor. You will see how the locations should look like.
Go back to phpmyadmin and import the new saved document.
WARNING: I didnt tried this and dont know if its working, but this is the way how i would try it.1 user says Thank You to Nick R for this useful post
August 19, 2009 at 9:22 am #314708If anyone figures out how to do this please post, i’ve been wondering how to do this myself

August 20, 2009 at 7:06 pm #314931Cities & Locations information updated via XML is an interesting features, we ll consider to include in the coming major release eg: 1.2.0
March 8, 2010 at 4:09 pm #335346Was the XML Locations thing added? Im using latest version 1.4.2 and cant seem to find an easy way to add UK only locations without typing them in or messing about with phpmy admin.
Any advice/help appreciated.
Andy
