September 6, 2011 at 12:23 am #168206I have Joomla 1.7 and JA Community for 1.7. The default colors for this template are brown and red. I want the site to use one of the optional configuration of blue and orange as the default colors. How do i change so that this color configuration is the default?

Greetings:This is something that you should be able to configure within your Template Manager relatively easily.
Give me a moment and I will explain the steps you need to take.

September 6, 2011 at 1:00 am #410863Here is how you can set one of the alternate color-themes as the “first priority default” color scheme.
1. Go into your Template Manager (within your Admin Backend)
2. Click the “Profiles” tab and scroll down to “Theme Settings” section.
3. Click the little file icon next to where it says “Default”
4. Select one of the color theme options and then click “Apply” at the bottom of that pop-out box
5. Save your changes (top of the Template Manager)
Refresh your page and the color theme you selected should now be the “first priority,” or “new default,” color scheme.
You cannot delete the “default” color scheme from the list.Let me know if this works for you.

Glad to help, my friend.February 20, 2012 at 3:37 pm #439031I tried this but for me it’s not possible to save this section. Everything you said above worked, but the button “Save” does not respond.
Any idea? Flash update or something? Thanks.

February 20, 2012 at 3:48 pm #439034What do you mean by “the button Save does not respond?”
February 20, 2012 at 4:13 pm #439040Hello Tom,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I totaly understand your explanation above. But somehow somethimes it is not possible for me to save the changes i make in the template manager. So i make changes and cannot “hit” the button “save”. Like its dead and no button. (Just an image).
So, i have to hit “close”.
When i go back inside the template manager, no changes had been saved. It’s not just this template. It’s with more 1.7 joomla templates. Is it an setting or is it my mac? I dont think its my mac because it is just 2 years old.I work with the newest firefox and the newest flash. (If that could be the problem.. )
Thanks for your reply.
kind regards,
Alex.

February 20, 2012 at 4:15 pm #439042Have you experienced this issue with any other of our templates – or any other Joomla administration environments?
Have you tried using a different browser – just to see if it may be a FireFox related issue?
February 20, 2012 at 4:24 pm #439047Hi Tom,
Yes, i have this problem with onther templates off joomlart. Sometimes i even cannot hit the core buttons like extensions, components etc. I then must logg off and loggin again to make them work.. I also tried safari on this problem.. Same.
Not really a biggy but now it’s hard for me to change the template collor..
Thanks.

February 20, 2012 at 5:00 pm #439057I asked about the different browsers because this is not a “common” issue that seems to occur with a great many users. Therefore – in trying to employ some deductive reasoning – I’m wondering if it might be an issue with your particular webhost’s server configurations or bandwidth issues.

February 21, 2012 at 1:33 pm #439274Hi Tom,
Today i tried it on my mother computer. Windows – Chorme & Explorer. Same problem. Link “save” gives no reaction.. Still, when i change the Blue template variant, it will says “Changes saved to “Blue”.
But the same protocol is not possible on the default template setting.
btw. I also cannot set iPhone template from handheld to default. Is there a CSS setting to change de default collor? So i change the name in the CSS to override the Template manager?
Thanks.
