You can change the masthead image from masthead module.
Please check the documentation here

I just want to change the default background image for all the pages. I dont want to configure every masthead for every page separately.

So this is what I did and helped me: Change the image in the template directory with name ‘bg-masthead’ in folder: ..templatesja_events_iiimages

This is the path of default image ; templates/ja_events_ii/images/bg-masthead.jpg
I saw you already changed the image on your site .
Let me now if you still have any issue in this topic .
