I want to make the header image smaller in height. I can’t find the css to do this?

I thought it should be this, in line 664 of the template_css.css

#ja-subheader {
margin-left: 3px;
background: #F5F3F1 url(../images/header-bg.gif) top right repeat-x;
position: relative;
float: right;
width: 612px;
height: 150px;

but changing the height does nothing, but make the new, smaller image tile vertically?

Open file index.php of the template, find and change the code in red:
