I never said all folders need to be 777, just the one file. The permissions issue is something you need to speak to your host about as the way your ownership are is beyound our control.
Regarding the missing files and folders all I can guess it that something went wrong in the upload process. I can assure you the quickstart is fine.
I am looking into your XML errors now.

Once again you have downgraded the logon you have given me so I am unable to access the template manager to try and help you. Please restore that.

I’ve replaced the JA Portfolio directory with a fresh copy and re-applied your images and css changes. There is a directory called portfoliok which you may want to take a backup of then remove from your server. Hopefully that is everything how it should be.
