Hi i am trying to create a menu to go across the top of projects and other categories. it is not working for me and it was not included in the instructions

Do you mean that you want the horizontal menu on top of page? or the menu as in Projects page of our demo site? http://ja-mono.demo.joomlart.com/index.php/en/projects

on my screen on laptop there is no horizontal menu bar on top. all i see is a off-canvas link menu button. so we have to go to that to navigate on the site on every single page. which is a double entry… and we get lost where we are on the site. could be the site design capacity is just not large enough for our purpose.

• we would like to create a menubar across the top on all pages.

ALSO – i like the project page menu bar for categories. i cant replicate it.

• how do we create a horizontal menu page for category / project pages?

related the the puzzle, why is it that some of the url’s have id numbers and others do not. the sections that contain id # have the project menu bar, and those that dont do not. please see what i mean:

• here the prev and next buttons do not show
• notice no id in this url design-print/printcollateral has no number in the url

• here the prev and next buttons show
  notice there is a number id placed in front of the page 17-bus

we would like all of the project pagrs to have the prev and next button.

why is it that some pages have id numbers and others do not. if i load all with id numbers will the prev and next buttons show?

i figured out the id issue. i had previously assigned the page to a sub-category then moved the page to the main category. and that did not show the id… will let you know of any other issues. thanks!

HOW CAN I CREATE THE [PREV] AND [NEXT] navigation buttons do display on article pages under a particular category? it appears to be buggy, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt?

There is no PREV / NEXT button in category page, could you send me the URL of category page you have these buttons?

i found a workaround. when you create a new article and assign it to a category on the menu, an id is placed in the url. and the prev and next buttons display

if we modify the location of the file, i.e., i had it in a sub-category and moved it to the parent category, then we lose the id number and the prev and next buttons. if we then move it back to the sub-category we dont get the id back, nor the prev or next button

therein lies the problem

if we delete the entire page and re-enter it works again, but one time it didnt. not sure why not…

i am deleting and re-entering each page in the category so i can have the prev or next button.

also if you load article first and we get the prev and next button. and modify the menu it disappears…

you have to do a complete qa to see what i mean…

well i deleted article and reenter now i cant get it to work,…. hm. major problem
