    Hello trisisot,
    Joomla 2.5?
Have you installed the quickstart package? That‘s where the content from the demo is included.

Check if you have any articles set to ‘featured’ in the content manager in the backend. Only featured articles will display on the home page.
Another reason could be that you don’t have anything attached to the home menu.
You can also check the options in article manager, options (top right), Blog/featured Layouts tab; there is a setting how many Leading articles and intro articles should be displayed.

Do you see articles for other menu items. It would help if you could give us a url pointing to your site if it is online.

    Hi

I assume the reason could be that Pascm disabled content (“I have disable display content from template settings”). Check the template settings: Go to template manager, select your template, choose Profiles tab and check the value of “Hide main content block”. If it is Yes set it to No. This should display your articles and maybe brings back your previous problem.

If indeed your previous problem shows up again check the following:
Go to Article manager, click on Options (Top right), choose the Blog/Featured layouts tab and check the value of “Include subcategories”. If this is Yes change it to No.

Let me know if this works. And, if your site is online, please provide a URL to it so we can check for ourselves.

    Regards, John

The text to the left in your original problem could also come from any module that normally is positioned to the right of the content pane. If the content pane is disabled that part shifts to the left. So if you have a menu assigned to a position to the right then this could show up left.

I have taken the liberty to enable the main content area and to enable the display of sub categories for you. Is that what you wanted?

My name is Phill actually lol.

Just need to check, do you want featured articles to display there or a particular category?

The bit you are seeing at the bottom is the sub category list which we should be able to hide in the menu manager.

    Phill

Indeed he should thank you for enabling his content again.
Apparently you have the link to his site for which I have asked him several times. I leave it to you to solve his problem. Not seeing his website makes it impossible for me to understand what he is talking about.

    John,

The link is in the other thread. As a moderator we can see their admin logon and links if a users chooses to add them to a new thread. Normal users such as yourself cannot see those details.

    trisistot,

I think I have removed the bit you wanted removed. This is done in the menu manager for the Home item in Category Options>Subcategory Levels. I have set this to “None” to stop the display of the sub category list you were seeing.

    Hi Phill

I understand and respect that difference. That is why is asked him several times for a link to his website not to his admin backend. There is nothing more public than having a site on the web, so there would have been no harm in sending me the link.
I assume his understanding of English is not sufficient because what you have changed now I already explained to him in a previous mail although I suggested to do this change in the global options of the content manager.

Regards and keep up the good work.
