Going mad here cannot seem to enable comments or find any options in administration to do so, installed jcomments but still nothing.

Am I missing something here?

Did you try going to Extensions>Plugins> and see if the plugin is enabled?

Yes, its not there and its supposed to be, cant tell ifts a joomla issue or a script issue, was posting just in case there were any known issues with the template.

Anyone know of a good comments plugin, preferably compaible with community builder?

Ended up trying jxtended comments instead, seems yo work ok but now finding has limited interactivity with joomla and other scripts and there seems little intention to expand it.
