I think you ‘ll export database of website 1 and import it into database of website 2 via the Control Panel Of your host. In the Dashboard of the COntrol panel you try to find the phpmyadmin menu and click it to go to do this task:

April 16, 2010 at 5:00 pm #340594Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
When doing this, would any of the content of the database from website1 overwrite that of website2?
Sorry if I sound from Jupiter here, I have never done this before.
Two questions please:
1- Website2 has already a database, how would I merge the 2 databases?
2- When I export the database from website1, would it come with ALL the articles published in website1?
Thank you.

April 17, 2010 at 6:10 am #340619Hello,
You better cannot touch this when you have no experience handling database.
In any case you could better first experiment with these methods.
You will first have to empty one database to be able to import content of the other database.
I have the impression that is not what you want.
You could import only the articles from the first database into the second, but experiment with it first on safe ground, and always make sure you can fall back on a backup.Good luck,

April 17, 2010 at 6:45 am #340620Dear iguinee,
You need to use export / import of articles. There is a good component in the Joomla! Extensions Directory >> http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migration-a-conversion/joomla-migration/4054
This should help. I have used it once, it worked for me.
Regards
Arvind
