I’m using linear + linear in JA Newspro with intro set to 1 and link items set to 2. But in INDUSTRY NEWS (only) category I see 5 link items. http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla2/index.php/en/

    How can I fix?

    Hi,

Seems that everything works fine on your site now yes ? What was it ? Looked like a cache issue to me.

    Hi Manos,

Are you looking at http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla2/index.php/en/ ? I still see 5 linked items in the INDUSTRY NEWS category, as shown in the screen grab. Make sure the ALL tab is selected.

Are you using Firefox? I noticed today that Firefox shows 2 link items but both Chrome and Safari show 5. Cache cleaned to beginning of time 🙂

    Hi,

Well, i am sure that was what i was looking but now it shows again 5 links instead of 2.
Please try to clear Joomla cache and let me know how that goes.

    Regards

Found it: Not a cache issue but is affected by language. Choose German flag and you’ll see 2 item links. English shows 5 despite the setting in JA News Pro – Profile Setting being 2. Language in the module is set to ALL.

I’m using Falang for languages on this test site, but not in a conventional way.

The behaviour is even stranger. If you click on any other category tab under INDUSTRY NEWS you get 2 link items under More: And if you return to the ALL tab you also get 2 items, BUT, click again on the ALL tab and you’ll get 5 linked items.

Note: Only exhibits this behaviour if German flag selected.

    Hi Manos,

I’m still puzzling over why the JA News Pro module setting for # of linked items is not overriding any language effects. Still shows 5 linked items when limit is set to 2. Cache cleaned with prejudice 🙂

For me whatever I do I only see 2 links under the more:

I have tried on localhost using standard Joomla language selector and it’s working fine, maybe you need to contact fabora about this ?

Phill, I believe you. In Chrome I see 5 links. In FF I see 2. All caches cleaned with prejudice.

This is also after I turned off Falong plugin and module. Mystery.

Ah. Bingo! I have now also disabled the System – Language filter. Now Chrome shows 2 items.
Does this mean that Falang is innocent?

But why doesn’t the JA News Pro module limit switch ignore languages?

UPDATE: I temporarily turned on Language filter and Falang and once again I see 5 items. I’ve turned them off again but in Chrome I still see 5 items. All caches everywhere known to man have been cleansed. Weird.

A real mystery to me too. I now see 5 links on both Firefox and Safari!! And it comes and goes on Chrome.

Am leaning towards caching problem on my Mac Mini running Maverick OS.

My wife’s Macbook Air running previous MacOS shows 2 links, also in Chrome.

UPDATE: Bingo! I reset Chrome per Help FAQ and all browsers immediately showed 2 links!!! Why would resetting Chrome to default Settings affect all browsers? LOL.
