How to fix the misaligned tab menus of jomsocial when using ja_ores template for joomla 1.7? Other links also do not appear right. I installed the template using the quickstart file and everything is OK except those links on jomsocial. However, when i tried other templates like ja_social, ja_blazes and the default joomla17 template, the jomsocial menu tabs and other links all look good. i tried viewing them all using firefox, chrome and internet explorer. the misalignment only appears in ja_ores template. Please help. Thank you.

    Hi,
Could you give me a link to your page as you said?

It is currently disabled because I do not want my members to see that. It is primarily a Filipino chat site, chat.com.ph, so the main index page is the chat app itself. The joomla frontpage is at http://chat.com.ph while the link to jomsocial component is at http://chat.com.ph/social

    You can see it using,
    username: tester
    password: teseter123

I can’t access http://chat.com.ph/social because Username and password do not match.
Could you check it again and send it to me by PM? Don’t give me by reply because everyone can see it.

i’m sorry to waste your time and effort due to my typographical error. the password should have been “tester123” (without the quotation marks).
anyway, i think i will just switch to another template until some good souls will take the trouble to test and find a fix for jomsocial’s misalignment on ja_ores.
the problem(s) must be in the template itself because i tried a fresh local install of ja_ores on xampp using the quickstart file and the same misaligned jomsocial/menu tabs appear with also a fresh install of jomsocial. but with the newest ja template, ja_social and the default joomla template, everything is OK.
    thanks for your replies.

The layouts of third party components do sometimes have problems with all templates and usually all it takes is a little css to adjust things. Good luck with your new choice of themplate. If it is a JA template you choose and still run into problems just ask and we will do our best to help.

hi phill! that little css is big deal to me. but since i don’t know much about css, i ask here, hoping that the developer(s) can do a test on their own without the need for access to my site’s backend. (we have jomsocial here, right?) i also asked the jomsocial folks on their site and got advised to ask here coz as you can see in the attached images, it’s only with ja_ores that jomsocial’s tabs are misaligned.
ja_blazes and ja_social templates work perfectly with the jomsocial component as far as i’m concerned.
    thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I do not have jomsocial so I cannot test. As far as I know many oftheother supporters on here do not have it either.

As I am sure you can appreciate, JA cannot test every component out there with the templates so when problems do arise they have to rely on users to report those bugs and allow us to see those bugs on their live sites. JA rely also on supporters such as myself to do a lot of e support work for them. Most of the supporters do not work at JA central but help out in their spare time from various places around the world. Due to licence issues we cannot all be given copies of paid extensions.

However in this case we are fortunate to have one of the Jomsocial staff also on the JA team and I will ask him to see if there is anything he can do to help with this problem.

Hi phill. thanks for your clear clarification. I guess i have to give access to a support staff here not only for my site’s own good but also in the interest of others who may also have jomsocial and would like to use the ja_ores template. i hope the one you’re referring to will see and answer in this thread so i can PM to him/her an admin account at chat.com.ph.

I really like the module positions of ja_ores and I have no experience to duplicate them in other templates. Hopefully, the css or whatever the issues may be will be solved soon. My Filipino chat site at chat.com.ph will be on its 9th year next month so I need it to be spruced up. Thanks again.

I am happy to take a look for you if you could PM me a super admin logon and ftp details. Please include a link to this thread in your PM.

As soon as we have those details we will take a look. Hopefully it is something the team can resolve very quickly for you.

I hope some good soul will take the trouble to look at my issues. I already submitted a support ticket to joomlart and all i got was a referral to paid customization services. :((

    Any update? Please.

I have also given the log-in credential in my support ticket. But I don’t see anyone else logging in my site’s backend yet. I feel frustrated with this kind of support.

By the way, I have seen here that this ja_ores template have been “upgraded” for some fix to the K2 component and other matters. Isn’t K2 a third party component like jomsocial? I mean, if there can be modifications to suit the template to K2, why can’t it be done also with jomsocial?

I need some update please. Thanks.

When I try to login to your site to look via the url you provided, it brings me to this –> http://chat.com.ph/
What I’m seeing is a list of chat rooms – not your home page with the JomSocial nav bar.

THAT is what I mean by not being able to get to the live page you show within the image you attached within your Support Ticket.

    Any suggestions?
