To fix the Featured text bug (see image #2 above), you simply need to add a background as follows:

Goto: ja_nex/html/mod_janews_featured/nex/style.css – line 83
And add the following line in red:

.ja-zinfp-featured .ja-zincontent .content-featured {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF;
margin: 0;
padding: 0 15px 20px;
}
