December 31, 2010 at 4:10 pm #158133Hi, I’ve placed a new favicon in the “root” of the template folder JA Portfolio and it still has not shown up 3 days later. I’ve cleared cache, and it does not show in IE nor FF etc.
Does it work different for T3 framework? I could not find any information about it. Thanks for any help.

February 7, 2011 at 7:57 pm #375434Hello. I am using the Ja Quartz template. I do not have a jat3 folder inside my system folder? Any other options?

February 9, 2011 at 9:13 am #375835Hi all,
With JA Portfolio (T3 Framework): Plz put favicon.ico file to templates/ja_portfolio/images/favicon.ico
With JA Quatz (Not T3 Framework): Plz put favicon.ico file to templates/ja_quartz/favicon.ico

May 26, 2011 at 6:11 pm #393051Hello,
I would prefer to change favicon the way you suggested (through template folder). It’s also suggested in the JA T3 Framework 2/Guides.
Though the only way it works is through replacing /plugins/system/jat3/base-themes/default/images/favicon.ico
You may check it on http://vdvkiev.com.ua – the web page has “rel” link to the plugin folder.
I afraid it will be replaced the next time I will upgrade JA T3 Framework.

Yeah, you’re right, in my case it is in plugin folder. Although I believe it was intended to be in templates/ja_portfolio/images/favicon.ico as stated in the documentation.
I updated JAT3 plugin yesterday and custom favicon was replaced with standard one which is not quite handy.
Could it be possible to update template so it works as specified in the docs?

August 16, 2012 at 5:59 am #464378for all who are looking for this in JA nex template, it’s the same.
Otherwise I have to say other template provider are way more user friendly in general. A thing like changing the favicon shouldn’t take longer than a minute, instead of searching for it for half an hour and then looking it up in the forums … So for the JA guys: after you managed to develop a decent design line, you could now work on improving the quality of your templates. There are many issues like that.

August 17, 2012 at 9:00 am #464529well,
one can look up the source of the page and search for ico or favicon .. that should reveal the path of the image. Give it a shot i think its the easiest way.
and it works for all not only for joomla alone.
