NOTE: I had this posted in JA Thumbnail forum, but no answer for 2 days so I’m posting here instead.

In category layout, thumbnail for leader is 300×300 — good this is desired. Thumbnail in column layout is 125×125 — good this is desired. But in the articles themselves, the picture is not full size — in this case picture of 384×384 is showing as 125×125 in teh article body, when full size in article body is desired.

If I could have the picture appear only as a thumbnail, and not appear in the article, that would work here. Then I could just add it a second time at full size in the article.

Is there a way I could have the picture appear as 384×384 in the article while still appearing in the smaller sizes in the layouts?

Link to see is http://tofino.directrouter.com/~microvat/index.php/real-news. And there is also an annotated screenshots attached to show exactly what is happening.

    Thanks,
    -billb

I’ve answered in your other thread. Rather than start new threads plese just bump your old thread. Most of us do not search through the forums but instead use the last 100 posts list to answere questions. I certainly miss some as I am sure other supporters do but if you bump them we will pick up on your posts. I’ll mark this one as closed and we can stick to your original thread.

Thanks Phil, Unfortunately this issue is not resolves so I’m re-opening this thread with a better clarification of the requirement here.

    Issue:
In category layout, thumbnail for leader is 300×300 — good this is desired. Thumbnail in column layout is 125×125 — good this is desired. But in the articles themselves, the picture is not full size — in this case picture of 384×384 is showing as 125×125 in the article body — not desird (looking for full size in article body is desired).

2 Note about JA Thumbnail (thanks Phil for this info)
If just after the ReadMore I put {jathumbnailoff} then thumbnailing will not be applied from that point forward. However, that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m trying to see if there’s a way to have a link to the entire article (a link I could send out or share in social media) that goes to a page for that article which shows full size picture.

    Desired Result
It may be that I can’t really do what I want, or can’t do it easily, or maybe I need to do it a way other than using JA Thumbnail. Essentially, I want there to be one “key” picture for an article that is used:

    1. show the pic thumbnail in category/featured layouts
    2. show the pic full size at top of articles

Any help appreciated. If this can’t be done, no worries, I’ll accept that and carry on:)

    Thanks!

PS: attachment is same as above, re-attached here for convenience/ to describe issue.

It should be possible with the readmore as described earlier. When you go the the full article that has a link of its own. Just make sure that in the article parameters you set “Show Intro Text” to “No”. Then after the readmore link you includ all of the text from the intro you wish displayed. Sometimes that means repeating text and images twice but it is the easiest way to get it done.

For example, look at this link here – http://www.windsurf.me.uk/

Then click on the “A Brit at the Helm of Internation Speedsailing” article and you will see a nice big image alligned to the right.

The direct link would be – http://www.windsurf.me.uk/component/content/article/1/130-a-brit-at-the-helm-of-international-speedsailing.html

Great thanks, yes, I think this will work. What your site does is exactly what I want. I’ll test it out tonight at home and close thread once I have operational. Thanks!! -billb

Super, this works as you describe. The only difference is that I’m just setting JA Thumbnail to manual and not using the {jathumbnailoff}. Anyhow, works great, thanks! Closing thread.
