I did not download the Quick Start package as I am applying this template to an existing site.

Yet, I don’t get which modules were used to make the homepage layout similar to that of the “demo”. I got the slider menu to work, but the modules located in User 1-4, for example, I cannot seem to mimic. The only module in the Module Manager that I could find that posted articles was the “mod_sidenews” BUT it still shows the article “title” and makes it a link–even though I configured the article in advanced parameters to not show the title or a link. I could not find any other settings in the module, the category, or the section, or the article to prevent this from happening. I reviewed every module in the Module Manager and couldn’t find one that would bring in articles.

I am obviously missing something…can someone help?

I looked at the User Guide and it doesn’t have any info except on how to configure the slider menu, which I did and looks great.

those modules use the custom module in the demo.

I recommend you should install a demo in the localhost. you view the configuration of module by module displaying the home of quickstart, and you the configuration for modules of the live site in the same way of demo
