Hi JoomlArt Team,

We have a site and the has not fully functional, was finding it difficulty as to how to have short url instead of big url’s for example i have a URL : http://domainname.com/abcd/index.php/layout/kids-and-teens/events-and-training/325-teaching-class

I need some help in this regard for this. Could anyone give steps by step instruction as to how to change the url, so that the site all url/navigation has short urls and will not effect the website.
Request your urgent help in this matter.

Hi
It depends on how much parent menu you are using to display the items
http://domainname.com/abcd/index.php/layout/kids-and-teens/events-and-training/325-teaching-class

You can put the events-and-training menu as parent menu to show it after site URL.
Or you can use 3rd party extension like sh404 Joomla to override the URLs

Already in the Joomlart Global configuration there is already a URL Rewrite option. Now if we enable that the internal links show error Page not found. Is there a steps of how to use this default feature that is there in Joomlart to enable the URL rewrite.

Hi
You to rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess from site root folder when you turn on URL rewrite Option in Joomla.
Beside this, short the URL, you can use the extension I suggested or put the menu as parent menu.
