How does one hide the intro text?

I’ve set config to hide-intro in the menu settings and article options, but it still shows.

I’ve even explored the code, and as opposed to other templates, there seems to be nothing distinguishing intro’s.

You want to hide intro text in category or article view ?
Please provide some more detail and reproduce steps.
