March 19, 2014 at 7:48 am #195924Hi,
Do not know if this is even possible, but how do you hide the (Filter By Extra Fields) that only has content that is available for users with access.
Currently you are not able to access the content, but you can still see that there is content available in there is the counter is activated. Also, you are able to click the checkbox. Would be optimal if the checkbox was either hidden until you are logged in or greyed out.
thanks for listening. 🙂

March 20, 2014 at 7:51 am #527440@ iaassens,
Thank you for reporting this issue, however I am afraid that we can not update this feature for JA K2 filter due to performance issue.
As you might know, K2 filter provides a feature to index data, and counter will get data from this indexed data. Our component does not need query from K2 item table to count item which can help to improve component performance.
The side effect for this approach (also a cause of this issue), since the indexed data is used for all users, it is not for separated user group.Hope you understand this situation. We need to optimise performance and accept some exceptional small issues.

March 21, 2014 at 9:42 am #527609Hi Dead Code,
Thanks for clarifying this. 🙂
Could the work around then be to have several k2 filter modules on the same page, setting one of the modules to only show when logged in. Then in the first filter module having only public content available, and the second only with user available content. Or will this not work? I know the filtering option is not optimal but then again, maybe I can make it work if the modules does not conflict with each other.
cheers

March 26, 2014 at 3:07 am #528152Yes, you can configure to display many instances of JA K2 filter module on the same page without confliction.
And if you want those modules to be displayed for specific user access level group (guest, registered user), you can change the “Access” option in module setting (this is standard setting for Joomla module).
