I have been trying, with no luck, to syndicate jobs using the beta import tool…

I have tired using RSS / XML from:

    1) Google Base – Appears to have been replaced by Google Merchant Center?
    2) Yahoo Jobs – Couldn’t get it to work!
    3) Indeed Jobs – Couldn’t get it to work!
    3) Career Board – Couldn’t get it to work!

This is what I am doing:

    1) Go to the site (ex. Indeed)
    2) Login
    3) Create a search for the keyword I want (ex. “leed”)
    3) Find the RSS / XML version
    4) View source code & copy to clipboard
    5) Paste to new XML doc
    6) Remove all but one item from XML
    7) Import XML to backend of JA Jobs
    8) Select “THE SEQUENCE ELEMENT” (I usually select the top item so I have more options for mapping)
    9) Map Fields

I always do all the steps and then get this error:

“File pointer failed: Cannot open URL”

Help would be greatly appreciated… Even just a working example… on any site!!!!

Hope we can figure this out so others will have at least some documentation!

    TIA

    Note:

Not all tags in the uploaded RSS / XML are making it to the mapping page as a field choice… Often there is a “guid” field that doesn’t show up for mapping looks like this in the page source:

    <guid isPermaLink=”false”>JKIWUTPO3D4</guid>

    Guy,

You can contact to Server Administrator to turn on “allow_url_fopen=ON” setting.

Yes… I have done this… Like we discussed the other day…

However… It doesn’t fix the problem and is a BIG SECURITY problem from what I have read?

Any other ideas… This feature is too good not to have 🙁

    Guy,

I have fixed the error on import job via XML file for you.

Kindly check and get back for further help.

I cannot get it to work as you described… Perhaps you could write out some information here as well, so I am not the only one that will benefit from this good work?

When I try to fetch the xml from a file on my machine… I get the error: “File Pointer Failed”

When I try to fetch from a URL I get the error:

Error: XML error at line 1 column 1
XML Parse error: XML error at line 1 column 1

XML Parse error: XML error at line 1 column 1
    Done.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong?

    🙁

    It’s working!!!

However… I noticed that it only pulls in 6 jobs at a time… can this be increased?

I would like to be able to import 50 – 100 at a time?

    Thanks again for everything!

    —————————————UPDATE——————————————-

I tried to delete the first 6 jobs in the xml file and import the next 6 but now nothing is coming through 🙁

I changed the guid fields so there are no duplicates ???

It only let me import 6 the first time…. all to employer2

I tried importing the next six to both employer2 and employer1 with no luck?

    Help is appreciated

    thanks!

    Hi,

Please check the number of jobs showing in your XML link first. If there are more than 6, we will check the import job function for further inspection.

If you took the time to look at the xml feed, you would see that there are 8 jobs currently in it… and I have many more I wish to import after! 🙁

After my first successful import of six jobs… NOTHING WORKS…

I can’t import jobs at all… not to existing employers…. not to new employers… not even one job!

    I have tried creating a new employer… re-uploading an example xml… mapping fields…. etc… It’s not working!

When I try to import it says “Done” but nothing shows up in the backend of ja jobs!

PS… I will update my ticket with a URL to the xml I wish to import… My previous post appears to have been deleted!

    Hi,

Please resend me xml link containing job data for further check

There is no data on this link: http://greenbuildingpro.com/jobs_xml/indeed_leed.xml at the moment.

Kindly check and get back to us with more info.
