I do also have a problem with the quick installation. Doesn’t show me the home page of the template. My url is www. legea.hr.
My mail is zeljkainikola@gmail.com
and now I am also very frustrated because is not working like you’ve said. have tried to install quck start for 6 times… and nothing.
June 28, 2009 at 9:40 pm #309358Have downloaded quick start install packages for three templates (JA Sulfur, JA Teline II and JA Cooper Business). All three fail to upload to my host’s Joomla 1.5.11 backend giving the error message “cannot find an XML set-up file in package. Please advise. Thanks.

June 28, 2009 at 10:03 pm #309359You do not install the quickstart into Joomla. The quickstart already contains a copy of Joomla and so must be installed in an empty directory and empty database.
You install the quickstart in the exact same way you would Joomla.

June 29, 2009 at 1:09 am #309369Is there a way to get an install package for JA Sulfur that doesn’t contain the full Joomla install? My host will not load the quickstart package and the file manager can’t unzip. I tried intalling the template and extensions seperately and, of course, the template didn’t retain the look or function of the sample (which is where I want to start). I have installed several other JA templates before quickstart without any problems. My host is Netfirms if that helps. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

June 29, 2009 at 7:54 am #309393Do you have FTP and database admin access to your host account? If not then change hosts. Any host that does not at least give FTP access is useless.
If you do have ftp access then unzip the quickstart zip to a local folder and ftp upload the files to your web directory. Set up a blank database and then proceed to your web directory’s URL and follow the installation instructions shown on screen.

June 29, 2009 at 8:55 pm #309470I installed first joomla 1.5.10 separately and then installed the template and did all step by step because I couldn’t install quickstart for 6-7 times…
My advice is to do like this, I know it’s a longer way but it works, and it works with joomla 1.5.10 not with 1.5.11., at least for me

September 30, 2009 at 11:48 am #319141I installed the quickstart package for teline III, and it looks nothing like the demo, none of the images show up and all the modules seem to be scattered. URL : nhspawprint.freehostia.com

May be you missed some step. Can you please brief about the steps you took. Also did you click on install Sample Data at the end of the installation wizard?
I have installed 3 demo sites on my localhost using the quickstart.. it works.

I have checked your site. It does not have Demo data provided by JA quickstart. I used the login info provided by you in the other thread to login to your backend. and I dont see Demo Section / Demo Category and all the articles are missing too, which should have been there.
Reinstall again.

October 6, 2009 at 11:29 pm #319685My site is http://greenlagoon.net/main/ where I am installing the quickstart files for the template JA Teline III. I uploaded all the files, and this is the error message I get when I try to start the install:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function jimport() in /home/greenlag/public_html/main/installation/includes/framework.php on line 52
It appears to fail on a call for the database: jimport( ‘joomla.database.table’ );
So it never even starts the installation. Please help me get this working.
Thanks,
