    Thanks,

I did try but it’s out of my debt besides I don’t want to delete all old data in the sites. That’s why I pay for installation. I hope they will install soon as per demo version as advertised.

    sites are laopress.com & punyakom.com

database name is correct. It may be the incorrect password. it should be all in lever case

    Thanks again

In the future, what you need to understand is that the QuickInstall is a multistep process. Perhaps it could become one step, like a cPanel install, but since there is so much variety in servers and the software that is on them, the QuickInstall only goes part way…and it begins at step 2.

Step 1 is making the database – since I have cPanel on a Unix server, I use the MySQL Database Wizard.

There are many little ingredients in these steps that are not obvious to us punters and which you have to stay aware of at each step. The technical people who do this all the time don’t even see these things anymore, because it is already in their blood.

For example, right away you will notice that the name of the database is not what you type in. The name of the database (and your username) are the 8 letter name of your site, then a underscore and then the database name. later, when you have to put the names into the another form, the database will not communicate with just the database name. So, if your site name is BobbysBigHouse, the database might be bobbysbi_FebDataTry and your username will be bobbysbi_firstintiallastname.

After the database is created, then you can ftp the large quickinstall package, extract it, find the quickinstall package inside that, extract that, and start the process that is otherwise described elsewhere. But it sounds like you missed that step from what drarvindc wrote.

    Good luck.</blockquote>

And what should I already have Joomla installed, with all my content, and only whant to change the template???
I am trying to install the template using the same way as other, and no way.

    Dear dlimun,

in that case, the only solution i can think of right now, would be to give it a try myself, Please forward your cpanel access via PM to me and the directory, where you wish to get the installation done. I shall give it a try and let you know.

Hi, I am so sorry for my very basic question because I am new to this thing. My problem is I am confused about what is the filename zipped file of that quickstart? I only found 4 zipped files there to download under the forum JA Sulfur. Here are the following files:
    1. ja_sulfur_for_joomla_1.5.x.v1.3.zip
    2. ja_sulfur_source_files.v1.0.zip
    3. ja_template_for_jomsocial.v1.3.zip
    4. ja_jomsocial_and_kunena_source_files.v1.0.zip

    Please help me. Thnks!

    Hi Scotty and others,

<em>@scotty 88799 wrote:</em><blockquote>It depends on what you want.

If the answer is B then ftp and unzip the .zip file that is inside your quickstart folder and install is the way you would an ordinary joomla install. This contains everything!!! Template + Joomla + Extensions. Everything!</blockquote>

I really have problems in using this Quckstart.
Here are the following steps I did.

    1. I already unzip the quickstart file and also unzipped the file within this folder and sent
    to ftp via FileZilla.

    Question:
What folder I will put this Quickstart file?
Actually there are three files when I unzipped the files in my PC; they are Templates,
Quickstart and Extension. So what folder I will put all of this 3 files?
Is it under my domain’s folder name? like pinoysh.com?

Other users said that they put it under the folder name public_html.
By the way I cannot see any folder name like public_html on my ftp server, so i created
it by myself. Is this ok to put these files on this folder and also is it ok to create this
    folder by myself?

    2. Then I already put all of these files to server. Then what specific name of the file i have to
    select for installation(at the server)?

    3. Then How do I know if I am successfully installed it? Do I have to type my URL like
    http://pinoysh.com?
Currenly my domain is very very empty. I am already confused how to do the process
because it is not so specific and I am new to this thing. It is just said that click Quickstart to
install but under the quickstart there are lots of files in there. Like there is a file Install.php,
also there is a folder nam like Installation(under Quickstart folder). I am not sure which one to
    click.

I hope you or anyone can help me on this. Thanks! :((

    Dear godobaja,

It seems you are new to Joomla!.

    1. The Quickstart zip file is as good as joomla install. I presume you are aware of how to install joomla on a server (without support of fantascio script).
    2. Upload the quickstart zip to your server root (folder which is accessible via browser). unzip the content and then point your browser to the directory (where you have unzipped the content). Run the installer, by clicking next option.
    3. You will need to create a Database, and user. The installer will ask you the information about host (you can put localhost), then add your Database name, username and password.
    4. On the last step, where it asks you the site name, your email and admin password option, remember to click on ” install Sample Data”, so as to get a site, same as the demo site.

joomla! is very easy as compared with other CMS, however, it would seem difficult to newbies, but one has to start learning basics.

    please try the above steps.

After several tries I have finally installed the quickstart of JA Lead. This has been extremely frustrating and I ran into numerous roadblocks.

Well of course I run into another roadblock now that I have it installed. I cannot access the back end of my site. When I type in the site name/administrator I get a message that the page cannot be found. When I go to the front end of the site it takes me to the ftp directory page. There are two items listed, one being the quick start. When I click on that it goes to my domain name/qs_j1515_ja_lead/, and it displays the template exactly how it is here, with the same exact pictures and text.

So I’m stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    I already solved the problem.

What I did was to upload all of the unzipped files from Joomla to the ftp server, then after that I have to type my URL of my website like for e.g http://my_website_name.com. Then set the login name and password.
Normally the login name is default like “admin”. So you can change this or not is ok.

Then type the URL of your website like for e.g http://my_website_name.com/administrator/index.php
then it will show you to the Login Form. Then that’s it!!! Voila!

    Thanks for the Advice!!!!!

    THANKS THANKS JOOMLA!!!!!!!
