Hi,

I host my site (under development) with Godaddy. After reading some of the posts I really don’t want to go through a Quickstart installation because I fear it will never work if I do. Surely there is some way to install Teline III including all the sample data and formatting without reinstalling Joomla – does anyone know how.

Plenty of ways but it involves work, while GoDaddy isn’t Joomla friendly the way every other host is, it’s still possible to install a JA quickstart on it. I’d go through the Godaddy threads here and collate what the major problems and solutions are/were with installation of QS. Then armed with the do’s and don’ts I’d be confident you can successfully install it.

Remember the quickest best way of getting the demo look to Teline is a qs install. Otherwise it gets quite involved and means installing Joomla setting a db loading patches to Joomla as Godaddy probably only has a fantastico type installer without the latest versions etc

At the end of the day I cannot see why ppl use Godaddy, they’re not cheap have no bandwidth or space etc, and have a totally incompatible management system and way of doing things to everyone else?compare
