January 25, 2011 at 4:19 pm #159295I want to remove the COM_CONTENT_ARTICLE_INFO = “Details” string found in the /language/en-GB/en-GB-com-content.ini file. I can set it to “”, but that leaves the byline indented. Is there another way? (and, please, if you suggest Article Manager/Options, point out the specific item to hide.)
I want the byline string to return to that of 1.5.

January 25, 2011 at 5:24 pm #373730Which template are you using here exactly?
I’ll be generic as I am not 100%. This might give you and idea of how to find it but if you post exatly what template you are using and if possible a screenshot showing what you want removed we can nail it down.
A coder would suggest editing the templates>ja_….>html>com_content>article>default.php file.
Take a look at the contents

</span>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php echo $this->article->event->afterDisplayContent; ?>
As you can see, there is a block for each part such as the date
<?php
if (
($this->params->get('show_create_date'))
|| (($this->params->get('show_author')) && ($this->article->author != ""))
|| (($this->params->get('show_section') && $this->article->sectionid) || ($this->params->get('show_category') && $this->article->catid))
|| ($this->params->get('show_pdf_icon') || $this->params->get('show_print_icon') || $this->params->get('show_email_icon'))
|| ($this->params->get('show_url') && $this->article->urls)
) :
?>
+ the divs below etc.You could remove that block but if you look at the code $this->params->(‘************’) that shows that in combination with the IF statement this will only be shown depending on the status of each particular paramater (setting in the Joomla back end).
So it leads us to look at the parameters in the Joomla back end. If you could post an image and details of the exact template you are using as I suggest above that would really help

January 25, 2011 at 6:24 pm #373747Phill, I’m using Teline IV (the jumpstart) for J1.6. I’ve attached a png of my current byline that’s a result of changing the article options, of which a screenshot is also attached.
Basically, I need to answer two questions: 1, is there a way to rid my byline of the “DETAILS” string via the Article Options (if not, please point me to a programmatic solution) and 2, how do I change the byline so that it reads the author’s name and then the date/timestamp. Thanks.

January 25, 2011 at 7:49 pm #373766I’ll move this to the right forum then. Please post a link as I am still not 100% sure what you are asking.

The site isn’t live, but what I want is instead of this byline:
Published on Monday, 24 January 2011 11:58 By Ed Sutherland
I’d like this byline:
By Ed Sutherland (Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 11:58)

<blockquote> Wednesday, 10 November 2010 12:10 administrator</blockquote> not same as your formation “Published on Monday, 24 January 2011 11:58 By Ed Sutherland” -
