I’ve been trying for many hours (days actually) without success to figure out how to make a module appear on only one page of my site and not entire categories. I’ve done a number of searches, read and tried things that didn’t work, so I’m hoping the trusty Joomlart community / support can help.

Specifically, I have a job site and I’m creating a series of web pages that each lists jobs and info specific to certain cities. Here is one for marketing jobs in Chicago, IL: http://marketinghire.com/city-region/chicago-marketing-jobs.html Note the bar with an RSS feed of jobs on the right hand side (position-7); that is the module/area that I need to customize for each page (e.g., NY jobs for the NY page, Chicago jobs for the Chicago page, etc.). I’ve created RSS feed modules and chart modules for each city page — for example, here’s my NY page: http://marketinghire.com/city-region/new-york-ny-marketing-jobs.html.

After reading a post on Joomla.org (several versions ago) with a potential solution, I created a new, unpublished menu, with each of the linked pages. The module manager allows me to select these pages, but they do not appear on those pages. The only selection that works is when I place a single module for the entire category. For example, if you look at the two linked pages, they both have the same RSS jobs module, for Chicago, which of course, has not what I want on the NY jobs page.

Can someone share how one can accomplish putting a different module on each of these city/regional pages on my site to get the desired effect?

    Thanks!

    Hello chicat,

If you wanna assign a module to a page, you can assign it to a menu in Module settings. Open Module Manager, then open the module settings. Scroll down to “Menu Assignment” and assign it to whatever menu you want to show the module.

    Regards.
