My client would like to have the Login with Password in the Dark Grey top area of the JaOres template in the Hot News area on the right hand side.

He ONLY wants Username and Password and NOT Create an account, forgot your password, remember me.

I think I need to split the top Hotnews area into 2 modules so the Login can be placed there.

Can you help me figure out how to do that?

I would greatly appreciate it.

This is Joomla 1.6 and I don’t know how to TURN OFF User registration or creating a new account. The accounts will already be created so no one is allowed to create a new account on their own. They will be using LDAP for that.

I put a Custom HTML Module in the Hot News Module as an example.

– to disable user registration page:

1. on “user manager” page, click on “Options” button
2. on the form of popup window, select ‘No’ for the ‘Allow User Registration’ option

– customize login form

1. you must change a position of module login to the top position
2. then, you must style for login form to display as you want (you can change html code of this module on this file “templates/{your_template}/html/mod_login/default.php”)
