I bought jaec package and installed k2 filter, however when i publish the module to masthead, it doesn’t show in the same manner as in the demo. The module didn’t initially come with the ja-directory quickstart package.

There is also an additional file in the list of downloadable files under k2 filter called ja_k2filter.zip.v1.0.0 – I am guessing it has something to do with layout (template), how do i apply this to k2 filter since the normal joomla installer doesn’t seem to recognise it.

Try to take a look at the documentation published HERE

Also since you are on localhost it is very hard for us to debug your configuration , so would be better ( if you still need help ) to publish your website on a public space from where we can access it and answer in a better way to your questions
