Please kindly download the Quickstart demo, and try to install this on the localhost, you will have a site similar with the demo, and then you view configurations of slideshow to make for yours

You tried installing the quickstart in the backend?

No.

The quickstart is the Demo site clone (contains full joomla 1.5.20 with all demo site content). Install it on your localhost for reference and then study the backend of demo site and replicate the settings on your live site.
