On the JA Rutile template demo I noticed that once the left hand menu item is clicked the menu item is in an “active” state (is shaded).

On my site when a button is clicked it is not showing active.

I have the menu item pointed to an “external” link (it’s actually internal but had to do this to make it connect to a SOBI2 module directory page). Not sure if this has anything to do with the problem.

If someone could point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.

I think you are correct regarding the lack of an “active” look due to the link being “external”.

Unfamiliar with SOBI2 so I can’t help further…but thought I’d offer my two cents.
Could you possibly use a “wrapper” instead of an external link?

    Good Luck,
    John.

I tried the wrapper but didn’t work at all.

I am supprised that Joomla doesn’t have an “internal” link option (besides articles, etc.).

I was creating new article and found a partial fix for the problem.

I created a new article and then linked it to a menu item and now the left hand navigation link shows “active” when on the “Forest Park” navigation/article . (Sights / Forest Park)

However, the main, top navigation item is not “active” (unlike the JA Rutile demo)

Since I created the articles first and then the menu initially (in which things didn’t work) and now since I created the article after the menus were already in place (it partially worked) I am deducing that the problem may lay in the order of creating these items.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this without recreating the site?
