I currently have an article assigned as the front page. The NEWS is appearing UNDER it and I want it on top of it. I tried moving it around in index.php to no avail. How do I get it to sit on top the same way it does if the home page is a “front-page blog” layout. Here’s the mess: http://97.74.185.182/
Thanks.

HI Kathy
open module manager sellect Ja_new positions and reorder your modules
thanksJune 4, 2009 at 5:59 pm #306939I tried that to no avail. That front page article is NOT a module. So trying to reorder that with this module can’t have any effect, I would think. What I need is this module to set above the article, but it appears the coding puts it below and the only way it will properly display on top is above a “front page blog layout” which I don’t want.
2nd dilemma: How do I get rid of the front page blog layout? If I put the JA news frontpage is another position other than Ja News, the front page blog layout goes away. That’s very odd. But I suspect I should keep it in the JA NEWS position.
So, I’m still stumped. Any other ideas to try out would be much appreciated. Thank you.

June 4, 2009 at 6:10 pm #306943OH, I think I understand now. The front page blog layout is all part of the news module. It’s not meant to be used with an article. Correct? This design would work for me if I had the option to show the section description, but I don’t see that feature, so this may not work. I may need to just find another slideshow module.

June 4, 2009 at 6:27 pm #306947Actually, as I look over index.php, I don’t see any modules that will sit nicely above an article in the center content area with this template. Is that correct? I tried moving things around in the template to get a module to show up there and couldn’t get it to work. is this possible or not?
thanks.

That’s right. Please read my subsequent posts. I think I understand this module now and what I want might not be possible.

June 5, 2009 at 3:40 pm #307060if you have solved pls mark Solved and best answer
June 7, 2009 at 9:07 pm #307262It’s not solved. Is it possible to solve it? I don’t think I can use JA News for my needs, but I’d like to use the template. However, I need a module position just above the article on the home page. Is it possible to do that? If so, how? I was not successful trying that in index.php. I need help. Thanks.
