    Hi,
    I follow this tutorial to override Magazine layout but It still fails:
    http://www.joomlart.com/documentation/purity-iii/override-joomla-com-content

    I follows these steps:
    1) In Template Manager: Styles I duplicated Purity III – Magazine, edited the new template, changed name to Purity III – Test Magazine and put this layout in Development Mode to On;

    2) Created a new theme called test-magazine in less/themes/test-magazine folder from orange theme;

    3) In Theme tab I selected test-magazine theme;

    4) In Layout tab I clicked in Saved as Copy button to create a new layout called test-magazine;

    5) I duplicated and renamed all Magazine layout files to test_magazine:
    html/com_content/category/test_magazine.xml
    html/com_content/category/test_magazine.php
    html/com_content/category/test_magazine_featured.php
    html/com_content/category/test_magazinee_list.php
    html/com_content/category/test_magazine-sub.php
    tpls/test_magazine.php
    less/layouts/test_magazine.less

    Unfortunately, when I create a new menu item and try to select test_magazine menu item type, this option it’s not available in the Article options group.

    What did I miss?

    Hi @filipetorres,

    How about you go your custom template in Extensions >>> Template Manager >>> assign the template to specific page via Assignment tab ?

    What is it you’re trying to accomplish?
