How to Register my domain to Joomlart?

    Hi all,

    I have a problem to register my domain, my domain is http://www.geraisoftware.com. When I installed Joomla, it failed to installed on root directory, so I created a folder name main, then redirected access from http://www.geraisoftware.com to http://www.geraisoftware.com/main.

    I have uploaded licenced text to http://www.geraisoftware.com/main, but it seem failed to register.

    So, what should I do?

    Hi,

    Go to member area, then click your domain, register there.

    Hi sfpkent,

    I have already go there, the problem is there is a link to view license text , something like … make sure that licence text can read by click THIS and when I clicked, error came out with message address not found, because it looks on http://www.geraisoftware.com while licence text is on http://www.geraisoftware.com/main.

    i can’t register my domain, because i don’t know use file ja_licencekey.txt

    What do you mean by that? Should I just ignored registration process?

    A couple things to note:

    You need to license the domain as http://www.domain.com, not http://www.domain.com/folder/

    Once you have licensed the domain, download the ja_licencekey.txt file and upload to http://www.domain.com/ja_licencekey.txt

    PM me if you’re still having issues, and include your domain name.

    Would you mind share with us why you couldn’t install in your root directory?? Maybe we can help.

    I got error when installing Joomla, don’t remember what is the error message. I will try again and let you know if problems still exist.

    This is error messages I got when tried to install on root using fantastico deluxe

    Install Joomla 1.5 (2/3)

    The installation can not be completed:

    – You chose to install in the main directory of the domain geraisoftware.com, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain geraisoftware.com (path=”/home/geraisfw/public_html/”).You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:
    images

    Click on the browser’s Back button to fix reported errors.

    The sturcture of public_html folder
    public_html
    |_ _private
    |_ _vti_bin(folder)
    |_ _vti_cnf
    |_ _vti_log
    |_ _vti_pvt
    |_ _vti_txt
    |_ cgi-bin
    |_ images
    |_ main(folder)

    Main folder seem contained data for my web. Which files should I remove?

    Hi,

    “Main” is the folder that you currently using for you website. The only folder in your root directory which crash with Joomla is “images”.

    Have you tried remove the folder completely and install joomla?

    Hi sfpkent,

    I just trying to upload again license key, this time to root directory (not to directory of my web data) before delete folder completely and install joomla again, then get verified, what a surprised, it worked.

    I thought license key must be uploaded to the same directory of my web data, but I was wrong. Case closed, thanks anyway for your help.

    We no longer restrict use of domains for several years now. You don’t need to register domain to use templates.
