Could you give me screenshot on which part on homepage u want to hide the category .
So i can check it . You can also take a look on my suggestion given here to hide the category names if it helps .

Add below code in custom.css file to hide the category

.magazine-featured-leading .magazine-item-media .item-image + .category-name {
  display: none;
}

Not successful with that, but I removed with following (saw on your link);

.magazine-item-media .category-name {
display: none!important;
}

I have other issue with featured articles…not possible to see Read more (Text of Article is just broken…)
I put Show Read more in Article Options.
