    In order to get the layout I want in JA Rave (J 1.6), I was told to remove the slideshow and left module positions.

    If I go into module manager, I can unpublish the JA Slideshow Module at position slideshow, is that the same thing as ‘removing the slideshow module?’

    As for the left module position, I’m having trouble there. I can remove the line from templateDetails.xml <positions>

    <position>banner</position>
    <position>left</position>
    <position>top</position>

    However, there is no “slideshow” module position here.

    So, my question is, how do I remove a module position generally or if there’s no general rule then how do I remove the left and slideshow module positions in JA Rave (J 1.6).

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

    Hi,
    To disable modules that have left, slideshow position. You do following steps:
    – Edit JA_Rave – Default template, choose Layouts tab.
    – Edit default layout, find this code

    <blocks name="middle" colwidth="35">
    <block name="inset1" width="18">left</block> <-- remove
    <block name="content-mass-top">slideshow</block> <-- remove
    <block name="right1">right</block>
    </blocks>

    –> It means module that is slideshow type is disabled
